Turned out to be a good trade for me. It's a veinier ecotype of the species from Scott Cohen, thicker and louder in the vein department than the thin, muted carlablackiae most people seem to chase. I've never understood the appeal of the subtle version when this one exists. It's already made some killer hybrids, and I'd wager it's not done yet.

The pollen parent, "Wonder Boy A", came from Scott as well. I honestly don't know if it's grown from original Wonder Boy material or a self of it, and I've stopped losing sleep over the question. What I do know is that it throws wondrous emergent colors onto its offspring with real consistency, and it's a big, vigorous plant in its own right, carrying forward Tim Anderson's habit of building something remarkable out of species nobody had heard of yet. Pairing that emergent power against the loud veining of the seed parent felt like an obvious cross to make. We'll see what it hands down.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0567/1734/4823/files/1c37ee6c-b189-44bb-9d38-82f3398dcfb4.jpg?v=1790446225
