Anthurium CAR-0314 x (Eastern dressleri x dressleri "FP2")

The seed parent is a mouthful of a cross I picked up as a small seedling from Carnivero a few years back, the kind of pedigree - (papillilaminum x Doc Block) x [(crystallinum x magnificum) x Ace of Spades] - that you write once on a tag and never say out loud again. What it lacks in a pronounceable name it makes up for in attitude: sanguine emergents that harden into a near-black lamina, veins somehow still visible against all that darkness. Most death-metal plant in the greenhouse, and I credit the Ace of Spades in its blood for that.

The pollen parent came to me as a 2-leaf seedling at the IAS Expo in 2024, from the folks at Fontanimal Planthouse - a dressleri lookalike that's proven hardier than the real thing and has already given me several seed batches of its own. Crossing that structure onto the CAR-0314's pigment felt like an obvious thing to try. We'll see which parent wins out as these size up.
