Anthurium (carlablackiae x aff besseae "Spider") x (crystallinum x carlablackiae)

This one's got carlablackiae on both sides of the equation, which is either a bold move or just what happens when you keep good genetics in rotation. The seed parent, carlablackiae x aff besseae "Spider," came to me as a seedling from Grant Abadal, and it took its sweet time growing up, but this past year it's been producing some nicely-veined offspring worth waiting for. Don't ask me what aff besseae "Spider" actually looks like, I have no idea, it's a mystery baked into the name and I've made peace with that.

The pollen parent, crystallinum x carlablackiae, was a Carnivero pickup from a few years back when they were turning out a lot of interesting hybrids. It split the difference nicely between parents, pulling in the vigor and size of crystallinum with some of that muted carlablackiae venation, and it's since gone on to do good work in other crosses around the greenhouse.

This particular batch already has a claim to fame - a prominent plant or two from the same cross is elsewhere on this site, still seedling-size but maturing nicely. This one's a sibling to that, coming from the same promising stock.
