The seed parent is a Phil Iloo special, pollen from the late great Tim Anderson's 'Tim's Black' laid onto what might be a Rory Antolak mother plant, though I'll admit I still owe Phil a call to confirm that lineage properly. Whatever the truth of it, the cross produced a phenomenal batch, and Phil was generous enough to pass one along to me. It arrived tiny. It did not stay that way. My representative photos of it are honestly overdue for a reshoot - at the time it was tucked in a corner shelf of the greenhouse, half-swallowed by the overgrowth of neighboring plants, quietly making do with whatever diffuse light slipped past the false canopy above it.
The pollen parent, papillilaminum "Flatty", came to me through a Facebook sale from the great Tofu Sprinkles, yes, that's really the name. It's a nice F2, or maybe S2, of the RLFS cross - Ralph Lynam x Ft Sherman, the quintessential pap ecotype, if you believe in such a thing, which is a whole separate argument I am not getting into here. I call it "Flatty" for the unglamorous reason that I now have something like a dozen paps in the greenhouse and this is the one with the mostly-flat sinus. Not every name needs a story. Sometimes it's just accounting.
