Anthurium (Cinnamon Swirl x 'Tim's Black') x ('Red Velvet Cake' x 'Zara')

This one comes from stacking two bits of Tim Anderson legacy on the seed side against the Red Velvet Cake x Zara mother I've leaned on for a few other projects now.

The seed parent, "Cinnamon Swirl" x 'Tim's Black', is a Phil Iloo creation, and a good one - he's carrying Tim's legacy faithfully while still putting his own spin on things. Phil doesn't ship on his own and I'm not in Miami often, so Aaron at Urban Leaf Shop tracked this one down for me as a small seedling. Both great guys, seek them out. It emerges cinnamon-y, as advertised, and hardens off with a zebra striping venation that shows up more than a little along different branches of Tim's line breeding. If I had to guess, I'd say this one connects somewhere back to 'Wonder Boy', though I can't prove it.

The pollen parent is the same Red Velvet Cake x Zara I paid too much for at the IAS Show & Sale in September 2023, off Doctor Jeffrey Block's table. It sulked as a runt for a year before finally taking off into a proper mother plant, one that changes its emergent color with the temperature and light, running anywhere from a soft pink-brown to something closer to an arterial wound. It's already made a few neat hybrids floating around the greenhouse, and this is one more.
