The seed parent is another one of Phil Iloo's genius creations, and I mean that every time I say it - dark, short, and disciplined enough to sit upright with a petiole staying under 18 inches pretty readily, which is more than I can say for half the things on my benches. It's also generous, throwing robust seed batches with berries fleshy enough to make the job easy. Onto it I put pollen from an extremely dark dressleri, no more, no less than the name suggests. I'm curious what a plant this well-behaved does when crossed against a species known mostly for being dark and staying that way.
