Anthurium papillilaminum "Lost" x "Wonder Boy A"

Both parents came from Scott Cohen, though they took different roads to get here. The seed parent is a papillilaminum sold to me as a lost tag plant - no name, no history, but the moment it matured there was no mistaking the species. Inky-black leaves, tall lobes, that velvet sheen. Can't go wrong with a plant like that, tag or no tag.

The pollen parent is "Wonder Boy A", and I honestly can't tell you if it's the original Wonder Boy material or a self of it. What I can tell you is that it throws wondrous emergent colors onto its offspring with real consistency, and it's large and vigorous to boot, carrying on Tim Anderson's knack for turning obscure species into something amazing. Putting that pollen onto a papillilaminum this dark felt like an obvious move. We'll see what the emergent colors do against all that black.
