Seed parent is one of mine from early 2025, using a seed parent from Paul Marcellini and pollen parent from Tezula, for a pap-forward taller deeply green-velvet plant with barely-visible venation. I'll get parent pics eventually.
The pollen parent has a better story. It's the inverse of the more widely traded of Dr. Block's earlier mass-releases, and I found it off Krome Ave in Miami, summer 2023, wedged in among a bench of orchids and platycerium at a roadside nursery that didn't seem to know what it had. It still wore the old 'Nurturing Nature' tag, QR code and all, back before everything got a logo and a color scheme. A cast-off from the mid-COVID Doc Block era, is what it is. Funny what ends up forgotten next to the ferns.
What makes this cross worth potting up is that both sides trace back to Tim Anderson's 'Wonder Boy,' likely through self-pollination somewhere along the way, and it shows - deep red-pink emergents and the kind of veination that makes you stop scrolling. A shared ancestor doing its quiet work two generations later.
