A straight species-on-species pairing, which is rarer for me than the crosses usually suggest, but when the parents are this good you don't complicate things.
The seed parent is my favorite pap in the greenhouse, full stop. It sits upright instead of sprawling the way paps tend to, and throws a copper-green emergent that looks like a penny mid-oxidation. Bill at SKG and Daryl of Tezula made this cross using two of Rory Antolak's wild-collected clones, so the genetics behind it are about as solid as they come. It speaks for itself, mostly because I keep saying so.
The pollen parent, "Colon pap," was a gift from my friend Jill, given at a point when I needed rebuilding more than I needed plants, and I haven't forgotten it. The name comes from Panama's Colón Province, a coastal pap from the Caribbean side of the divide, and a fine ambassador for the species in its own right. Putting these two together felt less like an experiment and more like an obligation.
