(SKG dressleri x magnificum) x (Pink Lemonade x Rio Claorense wild hybrid)

The seed parent goes back to a walk down Bill's nursery rows a few years ago, where it sat clumping in a 6" pot under a layer of moss, throwing up that bright pink emergent that gets your attention. Bill called this batch "Velvet Giant," and it's earned the name since - it's been separated into pieces that scattered in a few directions, one of which went to IAS for the 2025 Annual Member Dinner & Auction. What it throws is consistent: hardy, deep-green offspring that grow fast and come in properly velvety.

The pollen parent is a Pink Lemonade x Rio Claorense wild hybrid, no more, no less - I'm naming it and leaving it at that. What comes of putting its pollen onto that Velvet Giant clone, I can't tell you yet. That's the fun part.
