Wonder Boy A x (Justin x aff besseae "Big Bess")
Scott Cohen handed me the seed parent some years back, and I still don't know if it's true Wonder Boy material or a self of it. Doesn't much matter. Whatever it is, it throws wondrous emergent colors onto its kids like it's got something to prove, and it's got Tim Anderson's fingerprints all over it - that particular knack for building something amazing out of species nobody's bothered to properly identify yet.
The pollen parent was one of two keepers from an early "Justin" cross, held back for a wide sinus and veins you can't ignore. It's proven to be a generous parent plant, and mercifully, it didn't inherit the mothball reek that aff besseae likes to carry around in its spadix. Small mercies.
Put the two together and you get a plant that wants to stand tall, three feet at maturity if it follows form, with magnificum somewhere back in the mix refusing to be bred out. Some genetics just don't take no for an answer.
