The seed parent is "Wonder Boy Dark" x "Doc Block" - I'll let the name do the talking, since I've got nothing else on file for this one.
The pollen parent is more of a story. This is Scott Cohen's ecotype cross of carlablackiae, the veinier expression of the species - named, I believe, for Carla Black, a Heliconia person down in Central America, though the Anthurium world claimed the name for its own purposes. I first bought a seedling of this from Enid at NSE, promptly killed it, and whined enough about it that she sent me this one as a replacement. Turns out losing the first one was the best thing that could've happened, because most people chase the thin-veined, muted forms of this species, and I've never understood the appeal. Give me the thick, loud veins every time. This particular plant has already gone on to make some killer hybrids, and this is one of them.
